It wasn't until breakfast the next morning that I realized how much I had let my house go to waste. For it seemed as if the two plates where competing with each other over which one could have the most flies and smell the worst. In my opinion the one on the left was winning.
After breakfast as I cleaned all the dishes my mind started to drift. With Diamond's training now completed I couldn't help but wonder if it was time to add a second mare to the Ranch. My plan had always been to own three horses. One stallion and two mares.
Still feeling conflicted I headed outside to check up on the horses and to my great surprise Diamond was pregnant!
As I set about scattering the hay my mind became even more conflicted because Diamond's pregnancy changed everything. All the books I had ready said it wouldn't be a good idea to introduce another female to the herd right after a new foal was born. At the same time though I was worried that introducing a new mare now would cause Diamond stress and make her loss her baby.
Diamond's joy about her pregnancy must have rubbed off on me for I found myself considering having a kid of my own. Well that last for about a minute before I remember that I didn't like most children a bye product of having grown up with so many siblings.
The next order of business was grooming Acorn because he had some how gotten extremely dirty in one day.
Even though I would not be able to ride Diamond anymore she was determined to still improve as raced around the pastures.
Gardening was a way for me to take my mind of stuff not to mention it was always a good idea to have a ton of treats handy.
Acorn decided that today was going to be the day he ate my tomato plant for he obliviously couldn't wait until it was ready to harvest. I easily caught him and shooed him away back towards the pasture. Though I must admit I'm surprised he lasted so long in the first place.
After gardening it was time to clean the toilet which because I was so in my thoughts. I manged to break yet again.
Afterwards Acorn made another unsuccessful attempt on the tomato plant. I swear that if he was a dog he would be doing the dog crawl. Breaking the toilet must have been therapeutic because I finally figured out what I was going to do. And that was to head to the Equestrian Center to buy my third horse.
I decided on this beauty of a horse. Her name is Denali and she is a full breed Lipizzaner. Her traits are Genius, Brave and Fast so I'm hoping she'll fit in with Acorn and Diamond. She has 13 days left to go until she is and elder so she's about four days older then Diamond.
As Denali and I set off for home Acorn finally accomplished his goal and my tomato plant was soon no more.
Arriving at home I had to admit I was quite impressed with Denali for she had all ready gained the first level in racing within the short ride home.
The first meeting between Denali and Acorn went well but that wasn't to surprising for Acorn was defiantly a ladies horse.
The hardest meeting of course was the one between Denali and Diamond. Denali was watching out for flying baseballs and Diamond was boasting about all the competitions she won even though I had never shown her. When Denali spotted Diamond she was intimidate by the sight of an Alpha mare but she soon manged to over come her fear and give Diamond a gentle sniff.
When I got back to home I plant the tomato seed before giving Denali a apple. She seemed to like my peace offering for she let me put the saddle on her and mount up on the first try.
I started her out on the smaller jumps but I soon realized she was too advance for them. So I moved her up to the wooden fence but she refused to go over it.
But she did jump the flaming stone fence on the first try. This leads me to believe that the horse think the wooden fence is a monster and its going to eat them. For how else can you explain why the horses refuse that jump but will then jump bigger jumps.
Training soon came to a close though not before I manged to fall off Denial's back. I must admit it was a little surprising because I hadn't fall off in a while.
Then to my luck another lighting strike happen which sent Acorn running for his life thinking that a monster was out to get him.
I then spent the next hour calming down both Acorn and Diamond because apparently Acorn's running around had scared Diamond.
Even though I was tired I still had to make myself dinner. I was also dripping wet since it was pouring outside. After my late night dinner I washed the dishes for I was determined not to have a repeat of this morning.
